Will Packer has been carefully curating his catalogue, producing quality movie after quality movie. I had no idea that he was the man behind the Black classic Stomp the Yard. Packer came to my attention due to his most recent string of hits including Think Like a Man, Think Like a Man Too and Ride Along.
This weekend, I went with a friend to see his latest work, No Good Deed, which stars Taraji P. Henson and Idris Elba. My expectations weren't all that high due to bad reviews - and the last time Idris did the whole crazy-stalker-thriller thing with Beyonce, it wasn't all that thrilling.
Thankfully, the red flags proved to be wrong. No Good Deed turned out to be an excellent film highlighting mental illness, infidelity and the healing power of claiming independence. So far the film is performing well - it's earned $40M and cost about $35M.
I encourage everyone to go see it - if you have already, what did you think?!
