Tech entrepreneur Tristan Walker has an impressive resume. First, an internship at Twitter where he focused on market research, then he went on to become the Director of Business Development at foursquare. Before founding Walker & Company, Tristan also spent time as an entrepreneur-in-residence at a venture-capital firm.
I first heard about Tristan Walker through his marketing efforts for Bevel -- his shaving system designed for people of color with coarse, curly hair. Walker reaches his target audiences by advertising on many of the podcasts that I listen to such as The Read, Brilliant Idiots and The Combat Jack Show.
Tristan not only looks to create products that solve problems specifically for people of color, but he's also looking to create opportunities for minorities in Silicon Valley. His CODE2040 program matches high-performing Black and Latino undergraduate and graduate coders and software engineering students with Silicon Valley startups for summer internships.
